World of Dogs Program - This program is designed to educate and entertain attendees about the wonderful world of dogs and to introduce the many things that you can do with your dog. There will be demonstrations on obedience, rally obedience, agility, frisbee, drill team, training demonstrations, musical freestyle and more!

Parade of Breeds -The Kennel Club of Philadelphia which will present the National Dog Show the next weekend at the Expo Center will be at the Pet Expo on Saturday from 10am – 3pm.

Visit them for a meet the breeds - see championship dogs and talk to reputable breeder about what dog would be best for your family.

They will present an AKC Parade of Breeds in the Dog Arena at 11:30 am and 2:00 pm.

T&D'S Cats of the World - TD'S Cats of the World is a one of a kind animal refuge specializing in exotic felines including lions, tigers, cougars and bobcats. Family owned and operated TD’S Cats of the World rescues wildlife from situations of abuse, mistreatment, and abandonment or when they are no longer wanted as "pets". See some of the cats from TD's Cats of the World and talk to them about their unique rescue.

Piggyvilla - This unique educational and entertaining exhibit is a favorite at the expo. See the pot-bellied pigs up close and personal in Piggyvilla where they will stage fun and informative performances throughout the weekend.

Rainforest Reptiles Shows - Michael and Joanney Ralbovsky, founders and owners of Rainforest Reptiles are committed to educating the public about the natural world to improve the quality of our lives. Since 1993 Rainforest Reptiles has conducted educational interactive programs to teach respect for and educate people of all ages about animals and the importance of preserving the rainforests. Identified by Educate America as a valued educational and entertainment program for children, their shows are fun, informative and educational and you will have a chance to get up close to snakes, turtles, lizards, alligator and more! Rainforeset Reptile shows newest addition is their innovative and fun mobile unit. The mobile unit gives the capability to teach an understanding of the natural world through various habitat and animal displays.

A nominal fee will be charged to enter the mobile unit and see the reptiles up close including a very rare white (Albino) Alligator! Fees collected to help reptile preservation

Joel Silverman - from Animal Planets Good Dog U will be at the Pet Expo all weekend. Joel was named the 2008 Dog Trainer of the Year.  He and his dog Foster will perform each day in the Dog Arena demonstrating how he trains animals for movies and commercials. A few lucky audience members will get the opportunity to work with Joel and Foster in the demonstrations! Between shows Joel will be at his booth to talk to attendees and sign his new book, What Color is Your Dog? For more information on Joel visit his website www.companionsforlife.net

Karen Kober Animal Communication - Visit with Karen Kober and attend her animal communication seminars. Using mental telepathy Karen is able to converse with all species - living or deceased. This discussion will provide insight and validation as to the experiences of animal communication. Discussions will include who seeks a communicator and why, the benefits of this shared time between you and your animal friend/s, and how animal communication is learned. Elmwood Park Zoo - Come meet some of the animal ambassadors for the Elmwood Park Zoo! You can visit our booth and see them up close and personal! Touch a bison horn, feel a coyote pelt, or hold a jaguar skull in your hands. Free fun packs will be available for the children. Get in touch with your wild side with the Elmwood Park Zoo!

Arcadia Bird Sanctuary- Arcadia Bird Sanctuary and Educational Center is a shelter offering a permanent home for many rescued companion birds. Terri, a certified avian specialist provides education and information to the public about parrots.

Puppy Playground - Canine Creatures Comforts will be setting

Kids & Dogs - For kids ages 7-12, this fun class turns kids into dog trainers!  We will learn some basic obedience, a few tricks and play some games.  While our kids and dogs become best friends, we’ll also teach the kids how to safely interact with dogs.

Tricks & Games - In this fun, friendly class we play lots of games to help reinforce obedience skills.  We also teach new tricks that are fun and easy to learn.  Both you and your dog will have a great time!

Doggie Howl-O-Ween Costume Contest

A Doggie Howl-O-Ween Costume Contest will be held at the Greater Philadelphia Pet Expo the weekend of November 6-8, 2009. Sponsored by Canine Creature Comforts in Malvern, Pa. who will provide the prizes for the following costume categories:

            - Scariest Costume                                       

            - Cutest Costume

            - Most Creative Costume                              

            - Funniest Costume

            - Best Group Costume (people and dogs included!)

Come to the Canine Creature Comforts Booth in costume to enter your dog all weekend.

AKC Canine Good Citizen testing will be offered at the Pet Expo between the hours of 10 AM to 4 PM on Saturday, Nov 7.  All breeds and mixed breeds are welcome. Basic manners and obedience skills will be tested on dogs who are friendly and not aggressive.   Dogs must be clean and in good health and at least 6 months of age.  Owners will be asked to sign a form attesting to "responsible dog ownership." Please bring small brush to be used on your dog during the testing.  If your dog passes, you will be given a form to mail to the AKC who will then send you a beautiful gold-sealed Certificate which you may want to frame.  Cost for testing will be $10 per dog.   For more information, please see AKC link:
